Easter Weekend

We had a great time in Mesa, working with Tim on his new home, spending time with Grandma Reed, attending the Easter Pageant at the temple, going to Church with Grandpa and visiting on Sunday afternoon with Tim and Cindy and their adorable kids. The weather was so wonderful and warm. The Easter bunny even found the girls!

Saying good-bye to JoAnn

Mark's cousin, C.H. Packer, lives in Taylor and is the closest relative we have up here. His wife, JoAnn passed away last week and we went to the funeral. They were a wonderful couple and such a strong support to the local community.

I loved this picture of C.H. Packer and his wife, JoAnn. She had Alzheimer's the past 6 or 7 years and he took such good care of her.

JoAnn Packer as the young woman C.H. fell in love with. He remarked that he couldn't believe someone so cute could like him, so he grabbed her up.

Some flowers we ordered for the funeral, I thought they turned out so pretty.

Still bloomin'

Snowy Spring!

Our crab apple tree started blooming a couple days ago. I hope it doesn't freeze tonight. We'll be sad. We usually get to enjoy the blossoms about two weeks. Freaky spring snowfall today...really coming down hard. So pretty though!

Speaking of pretty...found this cute bedspread at WalMart today and Calla really liked it. A finishing touch was that we finally hung up some alphabet letters that Jenelle painted for Calla for her birthday. Way cute!
It was so much fun to get re-acquainted with Connor and Kamri during our quick trip to Mesa during General Conference weekend. They are growing and discovering the fascinating world around them. They are so cute. We love you!

Keller, Texas!

We went to see the Texas Longhorns in downtown Fort Worth. Despite some snide remarks from the peanut gallery ("where's the dust?") we had a fun time and really enjoyed the steakhouse dinner (thanks Lathe).

Grandma got to eat lunch in the cafeteria with the twins, and then went and spent some time in their classes. They are both so smart and made me feel so special and loved. We had fun together.

Good food, Brookly! She had lots of yummy meals planned and we enjoyed the new recipes. Dinner time chats were always anticipated in the evenings.

The fun backyard where some memories were made...Grumps and Mark got creative with some unused bricks and blocked off the fence so Babs can't dig out and terrorize the neighbors.

Jenny chillin'on the couch, doing her "find a word" puzzles.

Lathe could be heard practicing on his brand new electric guitar. He would rather play guitar music than watch T.V. and he has really progressed thru hours of dedicated playing time. Congrads, Lathe! You deserve it!

Getting to tuck the grandkiddies in at bedtime was an extra special treat. So sweet.

A pajama party every night, and Brookly's beautiful flowers that bloomed and became more beautiful each day...and Babs.

A couple crazy games of pool, with unlikely winners, thanks to some wild shots.

"Grumps" and his favorite spot on the couch during the beginning of March Madness week.

This was my favorite shot of Grumps, as we drove on the trip, sharing stories from his life, or his political take on the government or the world. The sign meant we were almost halfway home. Calla wanted to stand at the border. I beg to differ that New Mexico is a "land of enchantment"...but hey, it was a great trip!

Happy 14th Birthday, Calla!

CALLA had a rather boring birthday, it was the day we drove 15 hours to the Bigler's in Texas, but she was a great sport about it. The night before, we let her open her gifts, and she was excited to see some money for a shopping spree. Jenelle had made her a darling craft, her name on wood letters with cute ribbon, she loves it. Grandpa Klepinger bought her a beautiful silver bracelet from a native American woman in a WalMart parking lot. The next day, Brookly surprised her with a darling cake and candles and we all sang to her. We had several shopping days with Calla (Brookly knew the fun shops to hit) and we did some "major damage" to the pocketbooks. :) We feel so blessed to have Calla, she was a special gift from our Father in Heaven, one that we hadn't anticipated. She was practically dropped by the stork in our laps, but we know He had a definite plan for her life.
